What to look for when choosing a removal company
Four things worth settling before you agree to anything.
Ask for their liability cover in writing
Goods-in-transit cover is not the same as insurance for your goods. Ask what the limit is per item, and whether it covers the whole load if the truck is involved in an accident.
Insist on an in-person or video survey
A quote given over the phone from a room count is a guess. Any company that will not look at what you actually own before quoting will revise the price on loading day.
Check whether the price includes a second vehicle
Many Gauteng-to-Western-Cape loads need a shuttle vehicle for the last leg, because a large truck cannot reach coastal or estate roads. Find out whether that is included or billed separately.
Confirm the delivery window, not the delivery date
